The Abu Dhabi Real Estate Centre (ADREC) has announced a temporary suspension of rent increases on all lease contracts across Abu Dhabi until further notice. Under the new regulation, landlords cannot increase rental rates for new lease agreements or contract renewals. The approved rent will remain the same as the amount stated in the previous tenancy contract.

The decision aims to support market stability, protect tenants from rising housing costs, and promote sustainable growth in Abu Dhabi’s real estate sector. It comes as the emirate continues to attract strong local and international investment, driving demand for residential and commercial properties. For tenants, the rental freeze provides greater financial certainty and helps with long-term budgeting. Businesses will also benefit from more predictable operating costs, while landlords and property management companies are required to maintain existing approved rental values until further notice.

ADREC is expected to continue monitoring market conditions and may review the policy in the future based on rental trends and housing demand.
